Hello world!

Welcome to my T879223_39659047 black stethoscope closeupransforming Healthcare blog!   I’m a pastor to healthcare students and professionals in Metro Philadelphia.  Healthcare is our city’s number one industry, and approximately one-in-five physicians does some portion of his/her training here.

As I minister to this population, many tell me that they are excited about the opportunity to follow Christ – the Great Physician – by dedicating themselves to a life in medicine.  Unfortunately, the harsh realities of this calling are often harder than anticipated, and dreams of serving Christ and others are easily lost in the daily grind of training and practice.

This blog exists to help bridge the gap between the costs and opportunities of following Christ in healthcare.

With the disclaimers that I’m “starting small”, and speaking primarily to medical students, here you’ll find:

  • reflections that help you connect your faith in Christ to your life in medicine, and
  • links to other helpful resources that bear on this important intersection.

My prayer is that God will use this blog to challenge and encourage you as you follow Him in caring for others.  As that happens, the vision of this blog – and my ministry – will be realized: “transforming lives in healthcare… one life at a time.”

Grace to you,

Pastor Bryan Stoudt

About Bryan Stoudt

On my personal website (bryanstoudt.com), I help Christians follow Jesus in a noisy, broken world. I also have the privilege of helping Philadelphia's healthcare students and professionals do this as Area Director for the Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA). More information at cmdaphiladelphia.org. On a personal note, I'm fortunate to be married to my wonderful wife, Sharon. Together, we have four fantastic children. In my spare time, I enjoy roasting coffee, running, reading and learning foreign languages.
